Heart Failure Waypoint Privacy Policy

Effective November 5, 2026 · Heart Failure Waypoint ("Waypoint") is made by Myocognia AI ("we").

In short

Information on your iPhone

What you type into Waypoint (your profile, care-team limits, readings, symptoms, medicines, doses, lab results, hospital stays and food notes) is stored on your iPhone in encrypted form. You can lock Waypoint with Face ID or your passcode.

Apple Health

Only if you allow it, Waypoint reads these from the Health app: weight, blood pressure, heart rate, resting heart rate, walking heart rate, heart rate variability, Apple Watch ECG recordings, Apple Watch high, low and irregular heart rhythm notifications, AFib history, blood oxygen, breathing rate, sleep, breathing disturbances and sleep apnea notifications, wrist temperature during sleep, steps, walking distance, walking speed, stair speed, walking steadiness and Apple's low walking steadiness notifications, walking asymmetry, six-minute walk distance, cardio fitness, heart rate recovery after exercise, active and resting energy, exercise minutes, workouts, and the sodium and water you log in other apps. Waypoint uses them to show your trends and to warn you about changes that may need your care team. It may also read new data while Waypoint is closed (iOS wakes it about once an hour), so it can warn you with a notification. These notifications are created on your iPhone; they are not sent through our servers. If you turn on "Save my entries to Apple Health", Waypoint saves the weights and blood pressures you type in to the Health app.

Apple Health data stays on your iPhone. Waypoint does not upload it to its servers, does not store it in iCloud, and never uses it for advertising, marketing or data mining. The only exception is described under "Ask Waypoint" below, and only if you turn it on. You can change what Waypoint may read at any time in the Health app (your picture → Apps → Waypoint).

Summaries you share

Waypoint can make a "What changed this week" summary and a PDF summary on your iPhone, for your care team. They are sent only if you choose to share them, with your iPhone's share sheet (for example Mail or Messages), to the people you choose. Waypoint does not send them itself. It only remembers, on your iPhone, when you last sent the weekly summary.

If you create an account

An account is optional. It backs up your information and keeps it in step between your devices. With an account we store:

This information is stored by our hosting provider, Supabase, in the United States (Oregon). Each person can reach only their own information. Apple Health data is not part of your account.

Ask Waypoint (AI answers)

The Ask tab answers questions about heart failure, medicines, food and activity. The first time, Waypoint explains how it works and asks for your permission. If you say "Not now", Waypoint answers from its built-in library and nothing is sent.

When you agree, each question goes to Waypoint's server. The server removes details it recognizes (email addresses, phone numbers, street addresses, dates, ID and record numbers, and names written as "my name is …"), adds matching information from the Waypoint library, U.S. FDA drug labels and MedlinePlus, and sends it to Google's Gemini AI service to write the answer. Please do not type your name, address or other details about who you are.

If you also turn on "Use my readings in AI answers" (off unless you turn it on, and only with an account), questions about your own numbers include a short summary: your latest weight and weight change, latest blood pressure, resting heart rate, today's symptoms, current warnings, ejection fraction and the names of your medicines. The summary never includes your name, dates or contact details. Some of these values may come from Apple Health.

Waypoint does not keep your questions or the answers on its servers. Its server logs record only technical details, such as the kind of request, the time, whether it worked and which AI model answered. Google handles what it receives under the Gemini API terms and Google's Privacy Policy. You can turn AI answers on or off at any time in Me → Settings → Privacy.

Without an account, the Ask tab uses a random guest ID instead of your identity.

Medicine and health topic lookups

When you look up a medicine or a health topic, the medicine name or search words are sent through Waypoint's server to public U.S. government services: openFDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) and MedlinePlus (U.S. National Library of Medicine). Your identity is not sent.

Limits on requests

To keep the service fair and affordable, Waypoint's server counts how many assistant and lookup requests each account or guest ID makes per hour and per day, with the time of each request. These counts are used only for the limits.

App updates

Waypoint receives small updates through Expo's update service. To do this, the app sends technical details such as its version and a random installation ID that is not linked to you.
